Under the Sign of the Condor and the Eagle
The story of the creation of the film „The White Road“

To questions on how someone can have
the idea of producing such a film, I usually reply as follows:
It is my own heart seeking the essence that connects us all.
Its form of expression is as diverse as are people
and cultures. Yet, deep down in our hearts we are all one.
Is there a better way to carry this
message into the world than by means of a film?
„The White Road“ originated in
one of my dreams. It was a dream about freedom and about crossing borders. I
felt like a messenger, like an eagle soaring in the air. Breaking out of narrow
valleys into the endless expansion of the icy sea. There I discovered a ship: an
ice-breaker forging its way through packed ice and leaving behind it an open
trail.
In Mayan language, the „White
Road“ is called „Sac be“ and stands for our divine union with God and the
universe. In contrary, the „Red Road“, marks the beneficial communication
network among mankind.
Originally, this film was meant to
be a story about energetically powerful places and spiritually powerful people.
Surprisingly, however, everything changed. It was the first time that other
cultures were invited to the traditional reunion of elders, priests and shamans
in Merida on the peninsula of Yucatán in Mexico.
Despite enormous difficulties we,
our small team of Ines Fröschl-Queisser, Michael Springer, Daniel Loher and
myself, Elke von Linde, were given the honour of witnessing this very special
event: the reunification of the condor and the eagle after 511 long years of
suffering and suppression, symbol of the reunion of North and South America as
well as of the heart and the mind.
On site, we encountered all sorts of
obstacles. It was almost as if we needed to prove that we were worthy of
admittance. But then, almost miraculously, the doors opened. The shamans, all
priests who are talking in this film, opened their heart to share their
knowledge with us. A wisdom that was guarded for over centuries for the special
moment, when the eagle gains the strength to cross the borders to a new, ancient
land, to reunite with the condor in Central America.
This film „The White Road“ was
created for eyes and ears open for the messages of respect and awareness.

I am the land.
My eyes are the sky.
My limbs are the trees.
I am not here to control nature.
I am nature.
